Highlights from this Year’s American-Brazilian Aesthetic Meeting
The 2014 American-Brazilian Aesthetic Meeting took place in February on the beaches of Florianopolis in sunny southern Brazil. This year, over 90 nationalities were represented by participating surgeons and dermatologists, including doctors from the United States, South America, Europe, and Asia.
“This diversity,” says Dr. Saltz, “allowed us to share a wide range of new ideas, techniques, and individual and difficult case studies.”
Dr. Saltz, founder and co-chair of the event, holds the responsibility of organizing the scientific and social programs, as well as moderating the majority of panels. This year, discussions ranged from safety in cosmetic surgery, breast augmentation, facial rejuvenation surgery, non-surgical options for facial rejuvenation, body contouring, and ‘hot topics’ within the industry such as fat transfer and stem cell research.
According to Dr. Saltz, the goal of the American-Brazilian Aesthetic Meeting is to “combine science with fun through friendship and collegiality.”
Proceeds from the event benefit the Image Reborn Foundation of Utah, an organization providing no-cost healing retreats to women who have been diagnosed with breast cancer.
